Running Custom Scripts

Make certain you have a current database backup before running ANY custom script.

The script utility allows for the running of custom scripts, which can have a variety of effects depending on what they are written for.  Since they operate directly on the database, these should only be run if they were made by Extreme Point of Sale, Inc or Extreme Software Corporation personnel.  Database issues caused by running scripts made from other sources are not covered under support agreements.

To get to the script utility, from the launcher screen, hit login to POS.  Then, without logging in, go to the tools menu at the top of the screen, then Script Utility.

You will be prompted for the administrator password before getting to this screen; custom scripts require administrator permission due to the possible complications from running an unauthorized one, or even running one from Extreme Point of Sale, Inc multiple times.

Hit browse to pull up a file dialog, and browse to the file in question.  Hit run script to execute it.  When the script is complete, it will pop up a message.
